We don't generally talk about design and testing process, but yes, for the last 3 years I have been the lead designer, the cards are tested internally and externally and has several national and world champions amongst the testers including a few European players.
The game you play in Spain and possibly in Europe sounds different than the way it is generally played here. I highly encourage your national champions to come and play in the World Championships. I know the general impression that the decks here played by people like Tom Capor are weak or inefficient, but he beat all the European players that he played last year at worlds. Sometimes metas get caught in group think and everyone overvalues or undervalues certain cards or types of play until they sit across from someone else who has a very different understanding of the game and has put the time and effort into making it work rather than dismissing it, or have found ways around cards that others feel are over powered.
I'm not justifying or excusing any kinds of card, deck, or play, just that the problems that European players note don't play out as being particular problems here in NA and the problems people here in NA have don't generally play out in the EU. When this happens the only choice I have is to trust my play testers (internal and external) and the results of the World Championship which saw players from multiple countries sitting down and playing against each other.
There are very few cards that "break the game" but there are a number of cards that force players to adapt how they play and challenge them to find creative solutions.
¿será que jugamos en una 'warzone'? =P
