Hola!

ARKHAM TERROR: EXPERIMENTAL THERAPY
Release date: April 2008

Patients at Miskatonic State Hospital for the Insane receive state of the art therapy – 1923 state of the art! There is something going on here. The players take on the roles of doctors and patients. Each turn they make up clues that show what is actually going on. After a plot is uncovered they must stop it.

Most of the characters are mentally ill but this doesn’t stop them from helping. They were probably saving the world from Lovecraftian monsters before being committed anyway.

This is an intermediate level Matrix Game. It comes in a box with a 21x16 inch hard board map, character cards, laminated rules, wooden counters and plastic gold coins. It does not include dice.

TYPE: Intermediate Engle Matrix Game
PLAYERS: 2 to 10
AGE: 12 to adult
DURATION: 2 hours
COMPLEXITY: Moderate
REPLAYABILITY: High

He encontrado una información más exahustiva al respecto en este enlace:

Por lo que comentan parece un juego de rol. Habrá que esperar a ver su jugabilidad, pero por lo visto entramos en el año de Lovecraft

Aquí os dejo parte de la reseña:

......"
Arkham Terror by Hamster Press is a new arrangement of Matrix game scenarios set in 1920’s fictional locales of H. P. Lovecraft. This edition is currently available in a new hard cover format, although it still presents the same exceptional Matrix system and multiple storylines of a previous soft cover book. Matrix games are an interesting style of story telling game, very close to role-playing games except players control the story as much as their characters. Players can even assert effects upon other player characters through a fairly simple mechanic.

While this edition uses a new cover and binding process, it still follows the standard layout of earlier Matrix game books. The first twenty pages of every Matrix game set review the simple rules twice, followed by additional rules needed for the particular type of story present in the following scenarios. In this particular volume, there are six stories offered, half set in Arkham Asylum and half in neighboring the Arkham High.

All Matrix games use a fairly basic rule set that is doubly explained with both a cartoon and text description. The new printing has seen to a slightly better presentation of these rules, as well as two additional levels to the argument resolution options. The rules are as described on the company website:

“1. Move the Characters you control.
2. Negotiate with other players.
3. Make arguments about what you want to happen next.
4. The referee decides: 1. How strong arguments are, 2. Which arguments are in competition and 3. Which arguments cause conflict and trouble.
5. Players roll to see which arguments happen.
6. Additional arguments are made for conflicts and trouble as needed.”
