Ese vídeo es más falso que Judas

Leí por algún sitio que esta entrevista formaba parte de la promoción que habían efectuado para "La llamada de Cthulhu", el excelente film mudo que se produjo hace unos años. En cualquier caso, siempre he visto comentarios que tachan este video de fake gordo... lástima que no haya quedado ninguna grabación de la época, hubiera sido genial escuchar una diatriba de los labios del propio H.P. Lovecraft sobre algunos de los temas de sus historias.

concuerdo mucho en ese punto, hubiera sido excelente poder escuchar algunas palabras de boca del maestro....

Pues ciertamente, es una promoción muy bien pensada.

En el grupo de google al que pertenezco he colgado el vídeo y los más eruditos dicen esto:

In the 70-odd years since the Great Depression and the New Deal, most people's memories and mental images of New Deal programs and agencies have become VERY vague, aside from professional historians and dedicated history buffs ("FDR--didn't he start Social Security or something?")--so it's easy to "get away with" fabricating things like WPA interviews of writers, including writers who in fact were still pretty obscure at that time. But then, of course, my own personal favorite WPA projects are their State Guides! "

Que es un fake/promo.
Resumiendo mucho.
Tampoco las razones que da para decir que es falso estan muy bien documentadas (dice que en 1933 la entrevista, la institución que hace la entrevista, y el propio Lovecraft, no deberían de ser como aparecen en el video, pero sin ponerbuenos contra-ejemplos, de como deberían ser).
Pero vamos, en conjunto, aún sin datos concretos, parece una opinión bastante razonable. Pero preferiría la de un experto en imagen digital que seguro que ve 2 segundos del video y te dice al momento si es falso o no.

Para una vez que le echo ojo a un vídeo, es desde una terminal que no dispone de la posibilidad de audio.
El de la imagen no parece Lovecraft, siquiera, pero aparte de que sea falso o no, lo interesante está en saber lo que dice (algo fuera de mi alcance en estos momentos). Si concuerda con el life motive habitual de H. P., doy por bueno el intento.
